Diabetes monitoring: HbA1c, glucose and what they mean
Metabolic · 5 min read · Educational only
HbA1c reflects average glucose over roughly three months. Fasting glucose is a point-in-time measurement.
Your clinician decides frequency. Typical adult screening may include HbA1c with a lipid profile and kidney function.
Most glucose-related tests require 8–12 hours fasting. Water is allowed unless your doctor says otherwise.
